Description	Terms such as co-occurring disorders, depression and anxiety may at times complicate treatment of patients attempting to manage both substance abuse and mental health conditions. Their use can also present a challenge to providers as to whether or not a medication intervention is needed. This training will discuss the use of such terminology and provide alternative approaches that may guide prescribing, as well as placing the focus of treatment onto the patient.
