Description There are identifiable and well documented differences between men and women in the development of addictive behaviors and the effects of addiction. These differences fall into categories of susceptibility to addictions, effects on physical and mental health, relationships, economic opportunities, legal consequences, and stigma This course will identify common issues for women facing addiction and enable the clinician to identify and discuss these issues openly with the client and to advocate for gender specific treatment and resources.
